The Rundown  reports to television executives on local television news, programming, and community service projects.

The top managers and newspeople have shared their insights and explained lessons learned.

The Rundown began in 1981.  This material now fills a massive archive of 7,000 pages --- easily the largest record of hometown television's on air activities.

The Rundown (ISSN:0035-9912) has been published weekly (50 times a year) since 1981.

Each issue, with the exception of special reports, contains three sections:

1. Lead article.  Television professionals explain the specifics of how they covered major stories, produced community service campaigns, or coached staff members to improve techniques.

2. Across The Country.  This section summarizes ideas and events that television managers should know about.

3. Special Reports. On air reports are summarized.
